Xmas in July

The title of this entry is from the theme of Master Chef Australia - my current favorite TV show on Ten. So its been one week sharing house with friend in Ashfield, and on the 26th, Im gonna move into homestay in Maroubra. The wind of change is just blowing to life...

The Ashfield friend was going to Cabra today, one was sleeping at home and the other one is away for Snowy Mountains, so 2 of us decided to spice up the life with this Xmas in July. Friend picked me up in Ashfield Mall, shopping together in Burwood, then back home and cooked the dinner.

Im just so in love with both Western dish and food style. About guys and gals, personally, I prefer Western beauty over Asian. Find them somehow more attractive from the outside, not just hair color, big eyes and high nose but more about a "strong-beauty" when put next to a Hongkong man with the same style of skinny jeans.

Roasted chicken:

Twin pack chicken bought in Woolie. Marinate with salt, well chopped garlic and chilli.
Then put aside for at least half an hour.
Cook in oven from160-180 C for approx 1 hour or till brown. Brush with oil twice or so to protect the chicken from drying out (if not covered with foil).

I was just afraid that the chicken would be burnt and not cooked in the inside as we put the whole chicken into the oven. Might be the same feeling of Julie and Justin in Master Chef when they were in pair cooking the whole big salmon for Xmas feast. But we all got the same success hehe, chicken is a bit salty on the outside, and just so beautiful. I asked friend how he felt about the dish, he said just ok. "Why just ok? You liar!" "Because I know if I praise the dish you made, you will turn your face up to me then." Yea, surely do haha.

Salad:
Cook bacon till crispy. Toss with stir fry button mushrooms, potatoes and spinach before serving. Season with salt.

Baked pasta:
The oven stopped working, so I failed this dish. Taste average, cheese did melt but pasta not yet brown on the top.

"Hannah Montana: the movie" is not as good as on Disney Channel. But the music is good. You can download the whole soundtrack from zing, my fav is "Butterfly fly away" and "Bless the broken road".

4-week-holiday and 4 movies so far, gosh.
